Superintendent's Update: Tropical Storm Hilary

Dear SIATech Independent Study students and families:

We continue to monitor weather and road conditions and consult as a leadership team in making decisions about school schedule adjustments or closures. 

While SIATech Independent Study schools are currently on summer break until the first day of school on August 31, 2023, we realize some students continue to work on their courses, so we felt it was important to send a status update due to current weather conditions.

At this time, the status for August 21, 2023 is as follows:

• SIATech Independent Study locations will be closed on August 21, 2023. Staff will be available virtually, and all Independent Study students should work virtually. 
• If you are a SIATech at Job Corps student, please follow directives from your Job Corps center. Contact your mentor teacher or principal if you have questions.

We suggest you continue to be aware and stay informed of your local updates, weather notifications, and possible evacuation orders. Please reach out to your mentor teacher or principal if you have any questions.
