A recently submitted update from a SIATech Alumni:
Before I came to SIATech, I was a student at Homestead High School. During my time at Homestead, I didn't feel like I fit in there. While I was there, I started to lose hope in what I wanted to achieve. Coming to SIATech with instructors that care about each student has helped me get back on my path to succes.
I always say, "It's not the place that makes the experience, it's the people." And with SIATech, that couldn't be more true. The instructors made sure that each student felt included. Their one-on-one care made students feel like they were important. I also liked the class structure at the San Jose site. It allowed students to be independent.
The teachers at SIATech were excellent. They go out of their way to make sure each student is cared for. The instructors I had would individualize each student and give them guidance that would best support that student.
I am almost a graduate. Because of quarantine, I will not be able to graduate normally by walking across the stage. But I can say that my teachers have put in a lot of work to make sure the transition is smooth. After graduation, I plan to apply for college and take college courses then transfer as a pre-med student.
