On Thursday, October 31 SIATech North County (NCIS) hosted a Back-to-School Community Barbeque. Mentor Teacher Lisa Nichols and Graduate Capri took on the responsibility of grilling and served up some delicious burgers and hot dogs. On Thursday, October 24th, SIATech South Bay Mentor Teachers Ms. Ramirez and Ms. Lewis attended a career fair at the Double Tree in Mission Valley. There they shared information about SIATech’s innovative education programs for students that are available at the South Bay, North County, and San Diego sites. On Thursday, October 17 at 10:17 a.m. SIATech participated in The Great California Shake Out. The purpose is to give schools the opportunity practices safety drills and ensure they are prepared in case there is an earthquake. On Tuesday, October 8 NCIS Mentor Teacher, Ms. Roletti surprised students and staff with a few furry friends. Roletti worked with non-profit organization Love on a Leash® to bring dogs to the NCIS campus to engage in pet therapy. Love on a Leash® was formed in the early 1980s in San Diego County. On Thursday, September 19, SIATech East LA hosted their Back to School event. The site kicked off its event by welcoming students, families, and community members to a meet and greet of the staff. On August 14th, 2024, the Moreno Valley and Indio Independent Study Sites teamed up to visit the The Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art & Culture in Riverside.
