At SIATech High Schools, we provide an opportunity for students to pick up where they left off in their previous school and finish high school with us. Students earn an accredited high school diploma at SIATech that gives them the skills and knowledge to continue their education in college or go straight into the workforce.
Since the curriculum is available online, students can access the school work anytime, anywhere. These courses are motivating and media-rich, with interactive instructional tools and a wide range of activities. Edgenuity provides a platform for students that clearly explains academic concepts and empowers students to accelerate their learning to finish courses faster, or spend more time on challenging concepts. Edgenuity is a widely used platform for students nationwide, and is aligned to California state standards.
Our career exploration course ensures that students are given a chance to learn about emerging jobs and can select a career pathway while they are at SIATech high schools. Paxton-Patterson Career Labs at independent study campuses provide hands-on learning activities to give students a taste of what it is like to work in various industries and fields. At Job Corps, students participate in a Department of Labor trade pathway to gain solid experience to make them career ready upon graduation. Career coursework counts as elective credit to ensure that the work students do in their career courses will count toward their graduation requirements.
Upon enrollment, students meet with their mentor teacher to review previous transcripts and discuss what courses are needed for each pathway. A general guide for each of the course requirements for independent study are shown in the table below, however, be sure to discuss with your mentor teacher before drawing any conclusions about where you are on your individual learning plan.

Upon enrollment, all students meet with SIATech mentor teacher and staff to review previous transcripts. Previously completed coursework from other schools will be evaluated to identify where earned credits can transfer into SIATech. Our staff strive to have as many completed credits as possible transfer in for the student. The result is a personalized path to graduation, called an individualized learning plan or ILP, so that students have a clear understanding of what is needed to graduate from SIATech. We want to make sure students are excited about their learning path to keep them engaged and motivated every step of the way!
