On Thursday, September 12, SIATech El Centro Independent Study held their Back to School Night!
Students, parents and community members were invited to engage in an informative night and receive answers to any open questions.
Guests joined in an informational session that consisted of school expectations and the services offered.
Community Schools Engagement Coordinator Mr. Martinez and Student Wellness Coordinator Ms. Evangelista gave a presentation on available student services.
In addition, ECIS invited one of their community partners, Rite of Passage, to share the services they offer for pregnant or parenting youth. This includes but is not limited to parenting classes, free diapers and formula, as well as access to healthcare.
Overall the event was a success as attendees were able to meet with peers and staff. They also were able to walk away with more knowledge on services and resources available to them.
Thank you to Principal, Ms. Sykora and the El Centro team for keeping our students informed on the tools offered to them!
