SIATech Downtown Los Angeles Students Explore their Creativity

On Tuesday, April 22nd, SIATech Downtown Los Angeles Students took a trip to the Octavia Lab at the Los Angeles Public Library’s historic Central Library.

SIATech Downtown LA group photo Octavia Lab 2The Octavia Lab is described as a “do-it-yourself makerspace” where visitors are able to access a variety of creative tools. That being said, students were given the opportunity to explore various outlets including photography, recording, livestream, podcasts animation and illustration studios as well as 3D and laser printing.

 A standout moment was being able to utilize the photography studio to take fun and unique photos. 

Students enjoyed being able to tap into their creativity and learn about all of the work and technology that goes into producing some of their favorite things.

 

SIATech Downtown LA group photo Octavia Lab 3After touring the Octavia Lab students took a tour of the “No Prior Art Illustrations of Invention special exhibit. According to the Los Angeles Public Library website the exhibit “explores the intersection of art, science, and invention.” Featuring “an eclectic range of stories that explore the nature of human creativity and celebrate the inventive spirit.”

Students were able to immerse themselves in the world of art and creativity allowing their minds to open up to new opportunities!
