SIATech schools strive to set students up for success in the classroom and beyond. Our teachers work diligently to provide students with high quality education and engaging learning to better prepare them for their post graduate future.
However, our schools acknowledge that there are other valuable skills students should be taught as well. For this reason our schools work to incorporate lessons that also build up students life skills.
SIATech North County High School, Mentor Teacher, Ms. Nichols did this by providing students with a sewing lesson. Learning to sew is valuable as it allows students to be equipped with the ability to mend their own clothes, however it also helps students helps students maintain focus and gives them an opportunity to be creative.
For their latest lesson students sewed together draw string backpacks. "Sewing is helping our students to connect and create," said SIATech North County High School principal Mr. Lewis.
