SIATech South Bay bid farewell to October and welcomed autumn with a slew of activities during their Spirit Week.
Each day of Spirit Week had a fun theme. On Monday, October 28 staff and students arrived dressed in their coziest pajamas. Tuesday was "Swag Day" where individuals were were encouraged to show their school pride and dress in their favorite SIATech swag. Wednesday was "Sports Day", participants represented their favorite teams (Padres) by sporting caps and jerseys.
The spirit fest ended with a Whodunnit-themed Accelerated Learning Session (ALS) followed by Trick-or-Treating.
While Spirit Week came to an end the activities continued! Students honored Día de Los Muertos by creating beautiful commemorative pieces to place on their school altar. In addition, they continued to engage in their weekly Book Club to read dystopian fiction and discuss relevant topics.
To end the exciting week, Student Night at the Opera invited South Bay to attend their production of Giacomo Puccini’s La Bohème. SBIS students, staff, and parents dressed to impress for a lovely evening and enjoyed an amazing performance at San Diego Civic Theatre.
It was a week full of camaraderie, collaboration, culture, composition, and candy!
