SIATech Special Education Team Develops Skills to Support Students at CEC Expo

This past week, SIATech's Student Support Services leadership team guided by Ms. Taylor along with teachers from across several sites were able to attend the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) 2025, Convention & Expo in Baltimore, Maryland.

The CEC is the largest, international professional organization dedicated to improving the success of children and youth with disabilities.

This event provided a valuable opportunity for special education professionals to learn, share, and connect with peers in their field. The conference offered workshops and sessions designed to enhance professional skills and resources essential for effective practice.

SIATech’s Special Education team was able to enhance their collective expertise with a focus on how to can support students in our independent study and Job Corps programs. This participation not only facilitated connections with other professionals in the field but also enabled the department to meet internally.

During these meetings, team members shared best practices specifically tailored for student success. They also had an opportunity to discuss educational planning and focus for the 2025/2026 school year.

The team emerged from the event with inspiration and best practices that they can implement to better serve our SIATech students with learning differences.
