California State University Northridge (CSUN) welcomed SIATech Boyle Heights Independent High School students for a tour of their campus in November. Students took an eye-opening trip to the Power 106 radio station in December 2015. Power 106 welcomed both SIATech Boyle Heights and Pico-Union high school students to provide a behind-the-scenes tour of what happens in radio. SIATech is proud to provide the high school diploma program for the Opportunity Youth Academy located at the Washington Center in San Jose, California. Students complete their high school graduation requirements and benefit from the academic services of credentialed teachers, counselors, and support staff. SIATech Seniors attended the City College Presentation/Tour and Job Fair with Mrs. Lewis, ESE and Student Services Specialist. Ms. Kimberly-Bowden-Cooper, Master Admissions Representative, provided the students information about their career technical training programs as well as a tour of the facility. This year, SIATech Gainesville started a student ambassador program. SIATech Ambassadors (SGA) are a select group of students chosen through an application process to assist prospective students in the enrollment process, represent SIATech at various outreach activities, and conduct campus tours. Earlier this month we missed our MTA bus from Mariachi Plaza. The 92 was supposed to have us in route to the KLCS Television station in Downtown Los Angeles in under 34 minutes.
