You may remember graduate Jasmine Aleman, class of 2018, from a previous post. She was part of our ResCare partner’s youth trip to Washington, DC, where she was able to sneak a selfie with Senator Bernie Sanders! Jasmine popped in to the Perris site to visit with her teachers, and get tips on updating her resume. She is currently searching for a job that will lead to a career. As Jasmine said, she wants a job that is “more me!”
After graduating, Jasmine earned a Certificate as a Medical Assistant. She learned CPR, how to give immunizations, and how to draw blood. She enjoyed the schooling but said the medical terminology was grueling to learn.
Jasmine spoke again about how she was inspired by the head of ResCare, who told Jasmine that she used her degree in English to open doors to further career pathways. She hopes to find a job with a company that will encourage her to a higher education.
Now the mother of an 8 month old, Jasmine is looking forward to the future. She reads to her daughter every night, and is teaching her child to be bilingual. We look forward to hearing from Jasmine and other members of our SIATech alumni family.
