Students took an eye-opening trip to the Power 106 radio station in December 2015. Power 106 welcomed both SIATech Boyle Heights and Pico-Union high school students to provide a behind-the-scenes tour of what happens in radio. Radio personnel discussed the opportunities available for students in radio through an ICT/Digital Media career focus.
Students received the opportunity to speak to various radio personnel including Radio Host Yesi Ortiz, Programming Director Jimmy Steal, Executive Assistant Terri Dourian, and others. Students became familiar with the roles and responsibilities of each professional’s career choice and the journey for success. Students left the field tirp with a better understanding of exciting new career possibilities.
