Arturo is getting very close to graduating from SIATech North County.
He realized that he didn’t have enough credits to graduate from the traditional high school. After switching to the local continuation high school and still struggling to earn enough credits, the counselor suggested he look into SIATech as an alternative since it serves students up to 24 years old.
Arturo enrolled and has been plugging away at finishing high school while working as a mechanic. “I feel like being a mechanic forever is not for me. So by going to school I’m learning and seeing what else is out there.”
Arturo enjoys attending SIATech, and appreciates his the teachers. “Mr. Leif is a really good teacher. He makes you feel at home. He is just cool. I can tell him about work and he listens and supports me. And he helps me out a lot with my schoolwork.”
The flexibility of the curriculum has been a plus for Arturo. “I like that at SIATech you have the option of doing the work on paper or on the computer. I prefer paper and for me that helps me get my work done faster.”Arturo has just 5 credits left to graduate. He looks forward to exploring his options after graduation.
