Congratulations to SIATech's latest Completer of the Entrepreneurship and Small Business Career Pathway!
Student Gabriela Montes, who currently enrolled at SIATech East Los Angeles High School, is the first SIATech student to complete the three-course Entrepreneurship pathway and pass the Certiport exam to become certified in Entrepreneurship and Small Business.
Gabriela is pursuing a career in marketing. To personalize her curriculum, Gabriela’s CTE Entrepreneurship Teacher, Roger Reinecke, created two marketing projects specifically designed for her to hone her skills and display her marketing talent. The two projects focused on the small-business clothing brand, Platinum Nine, which was founded by entrepreneur Noah Castaneda, a SIATech student in Moreno Valley.
Gabriela was assigned various marketing projects to analyze Platinum Nine’s current marketing strategy and make recommendations to improve and increase their online presence. This included researching other clothing brands’ marketing strategies and utilizing knowledge of good marketing practices. For her final projects, Gabriela developed two slide decks and delivered illustrated presentations to Noah with voiceover. Noah found her recommendations to be both useful and insightful.
These projects brought together two SIATech students from different independent studies sites in a collaborative “Real Life” learning experience. We are excited to see what Gabriela accomplishes next! Kudos for a job well done, Gabriela!
