SIATech has several new site employees who have come on board to help better serve students and the organization. Approximately 15 various site-based positions have been created for 2019-2020 to support all students as well as the additional activities funded by CTE / career pathways / Strong Workforce grants. We are featuring three new colleagues so you can learn more about them. Meet Jeff Cole, and Jennifer Kay.
Jeff Cole is the new Human Resources Coordinator. Jeff is supportive of SIATech’s vision and work to serve at-promise students: “I think ‘Real Learning for Real Life’ allows students to feel more engaged in their learning experience which will develop a growth mindset as they pursue their dreams and make an impact on society.” In his new role, Jeff provides human resources professional duties in the areas of employee credentials, health and wellness benefits, employee leaves, and employee relations. He commented that, “Right now, I am focusing on health benefits, FMLA, worker’s compensation, employee calendars, and substitute teacher support.” Jeff is originally from southern New Jersey just outside of Philadelphia and moved to San Diego in 1995. He is a graduate of Penn State University. When not at SIATech he enjoys surfing, camping and hiking, oil painting, and spending time with his wife, Kelly and 9-year old daughter, Jaden.
